Vibgyor GoGreen – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
Vibgyor Charitable Trust, as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, undertook Vibgyor GoGreen – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, a tree plantation initiative conducted in association with the Goa Forest Department – Research & Utilisation Division, Campal Range, Panaji, and in support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. As part of the initiative, 20 saplings were planted across selected locations in Goa, with an emphasis on responsible plantation, continued care, and long-term environmental impact.
Beyond increasing green cover, the project aims to promote environmental awareness, encourage sustainable and environment-friendly habits, and inspire communities—particularly the younger generation—to actively participate in protecting nature. Through this initiative, Vibgyor Charitable Trust has reaffirmed its pledge to support environmental conservation and to continuously motivate individuals and communities to adopt responsible practices that contribute towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
Canacona, Goa - Flood Relief Response
Following the devastating floods that affected Canacona, Goa, Vibgyor Charitable Trust responded by extending immediate humanitarian assistance to families and individuals whose homes and livelihoods were severely affected by the flooding. The Trust provided essential food supplies, clothing, and medicines to affected residents, helping address their immediate needs during the aftermath of the disaster. These relief materials provided practical support to families who were facing difficulties accessing basic necessities and helped them cope with the challenging conditions created by the flood. Through this relief effort, Vibgyor Charitable Trust demonstrated its commitment to community support, humanitarian assistance, and standing alongside vulnerable communities during times of crisis. The initiative reflected the Trust’s belief that timely assistance, however modest, can provide meaningful relief and reassurance to families facing hardship.
ASRO – Medical Support Initiative 2010
On 24 October 2010, Vibgyor Charitable Trust extended financial assistance towards medical support for children at ASRO, a home serving children living with HIV in Goa. The contribution was made by Mr. Francis Veigas, representing Vibgyor Charitable Trust’s commitment to supporting children and vulnerable members of the community who require sustained care, compassion, and access to essential healthcare. The initiative was undertaken with the understanding that children living in institutional care may face significant medical and social challenges and that timely financial support can help strengthen their access to treatment, medicines, healthcare services, nutrition, and other essential requirements. Through this contribution, the Trust sought to provide meaningful assistance towards the wellbeing and dignity of the children under ASRO’s care, while also supporting the organisation’s broader efforts to provide a safe, caring, and supportive environment. The initiative represented more than a financial contribution—it reflected Vibgyor’s belief that every child deserves an opportunity to receive appropriate care, live with dignity, and grow in an environment of compassion and acceptance. The initiative remains part of Vibgyor’s broader charitable commitment to extending practical assistance to those in need and creating a positive, lasting impact within the communities it serves.
St. Anthony’s Boys Boarding – Food Support Initiative 2021
Vibgyor Charitable Trust extended its support to the St. Anthony’s Boys Boarding in Duler, Goa, through the provision of essential food supplies and household rations for the children residing at the institution. Recognising that access to nutritious and adequate food is a fundamental requirement for the wellbeing, development, and education of children in residential care, the Trust contributed essential commodities including rice, wheat, and other staple food items to help meet the boarding home’s day-to-day requirements. The initiative was intended to provide practical and immediate assistance to the institution while helping ensure that the boys under its care had continued access to essential provisions. By supporting the boarding home’s food requirements, Vibgyor sought to ease a portion of the institution’s recurring operational burden and allow its resources to be directed towards the children’s education, care, and overall development. More than a donation of food supplies, the initiative reflected the Trust’s commitment to supporting children in need and strengthening community institutions that provide care, shelter, education, and guidance to young people. Through such interventions, Vibgyor Charitable Trust continues to uphold its belief that meaningful charitable work involves responding to fundamental needs and extending consistent support to vulnerable sections of society, helping create an environment in which every child has the opportunity to grow with dignity, security, and hope.
Vibgyor Rise – Aid to a Boy with Mobility Challenges 2023
As part of Vibgyor Rise, Vibgyor Charitable Trust, with the generous support of several benefactors, extended assistance to a financially disadvantaged family whose young son faced significant mobility challenges and was unable to walk independently. Recognising the profound impact that limited mobility can have on a child’s education, independence, social participation, and overall quality of life, the Trust came together with its supporters to provide the family with a wheelchair suited to the child’s needs. The assistance provided the child with greater mobility and enabled him to move with increased independence and participate more comfortably in everyday activities, while also offering the family practical relief from the challenges associated with caring for a child with limited mobility. The initiative demonstrated the meaningful difference that coordinated community support can make in the life of a family facing financial and physical hardship.
Vibgyor Rise – Christmas Gift to Families 2022
As part of its annual commitment to supporting underprivileged and vulnerable members of society during the festive season, Vibgyor Charitable Trust undertook a special Christmas outreach initiative to bring warmth, dignity, and festive cheer to families and elderly individuals in need. Ahead of the Christmas celebrations, the Trustees of Vibgyor Charitable Trust distributed Christmas grocery gift bags to 10 individual families, while also extending the initiative to the residents of Amazing Grace, a Home for the Aged in Guirim, Goa. The gift packages contained essential grocery provisions intended to support the beneficiaries with their household and daily needs during the Christmas period, while also ensuring that families facing financial difficulties could experience the joy and spirit of the season with greater comfort. This initiative was made possible through the generous collaboration and support of Regos, one of Goa’s leading food-product companies, and Delfinos, Porvorim, whose contributions helped the Trust reach more beneficiaries and strengthen the impact of the outreach.
Vibgyor Rise – Lunch for Senior Citizens at Parra
As part of the Christmas joyful season in 2024, Vibgyor Charitable Trust organised and served a special lunch for the senior citizens residing at the Pereira Center, a Home for the Aged in Parra, Goa. The initiative was undertaken as a heartfelt gesture of care, companionship, and respect towards the elderly, recognising the importance of ensuring that senior citizens feel valued, remembered, and included during the festive season. The lunch was organised in loving memory of Late Mrs. Lolita Pereira and Late Mrs. Teresa Rocha, transforming the occasion into a meaningful tribute to their lives and memory. Beyond providing a nourishing meal, the initiative created an opportunity for the Trustees and volunteers to spend time with the residents, share the warmth and joy of Christmas, and bring a sense of togetherness to those in residential care. The gesture reflected Vibgyor Charitable Trust’s belief that charitable service extends beyond material assistance and includes creating moments of dignity, companionship, and human connection.
